On Wednesday, my flatmates and I decided we’d visit the Edinburgh Christmas Market to celebrate finishing our semester 1 exam, also met my boyfriend when we got there as he studies in Edinburgh. The market is on every year in Scotland’s capital and it is the best place to go if you want to indulge yourself in amazing street food and get in the spirit of the Christmas season. This years market was fab, there was so many stalls; you could find anything from German sausages cooked on an open fire grill to freshly made crepes with Nutella (of course I had one of those, it was delicious!) The market didn’t just have food stalls though, there were lots of little stalls with different things, handmade christmas ornaments, Celtic jewellery, candles and a lot more that I cant remember!
We decided that we’d spend the day in the City, so Megan (my flatmate) brought her camera to get some pictures whilst all of the Christmas lights were up. Some of the pictures she got are above^
We were in luck and the weather held out all day even though it was horrible when we left in the morning to get the train from Galashiels.
Edinburgh market is a definite must to visit during the Festive period, there is so much to do for all ages, and plenty of culture with all of the stalls that are in the market. It is the best part of living near Edinburgh at Christmas, and it is definitely student budget friendly! We had a fab time!
If you wanna check out what is going on at the market and in and around Edinburgh during Christmas you’ll find plenty on this link..
